I’ve got two pieces in the show for the opening of a new gallery called The Owl and the Pussycat.
Sat 17 Oct
34 Swan Street, Richmond
“Opening in Richmond on Saturday 17 October, The Owl and the Pussycat Gallery will find its place in the busy commercial area of Richmond by offering a new, innovative and creative environment for non-mainstream and emerging artists to exhibit their work.
The Owl and The Pussycat seeks to support non-mainstream artists by offering a more commercial focus than what is currently available to them in the vast majority of artist-run spaces.
Hosting an array of different art forms; from visual to performance, the written and spoken word, a variety of classes, special events and more, the Gallery aims to represent ‘The art’s’ in all it’s forms.
The opening will feature a variety of activities, performances and presentations throughout the day.
Commencing at 1:00pm the day includes
·Talks and presentations from artists,·A live graffiti art demonstration,·Music from an array of artists,·Performances from a selection of theatre makers including the ever popular Red Cabbages,
·A Poetry Jam,·A body art fashion show,
·A live body suspension,·Art work from a number of artists exhibited in their own spaces
As well as a host of other activities
Jason Cavanagh, the owner operator of The Owl and The Pussycat Gallery was inspired to create a space for artists who struggle to find a way to practice their art.
“My vision is to assist artists in making a living out of what they do, what they love” he said. “As an artist myself, there is something special about providing this type of space and opportunity for others.”
The Owl and The Pussycat will ensure a lively, creative and fun environment by featuring a variety of activities and events each week along with some of Melbourne’s most exciting new art works on show.
The Owl and the Pussycat is situated at 34 Swan Street, directly opposite Richmond Station.LOOK FOR THE PEA GREEN DOOR!!!For further information contact: Jason Cavanagh – email@example.com”
